Lightroom & Photoshop Update to 2024 Making Both Programs Laggy and Glitchy

I'm genuinely impressed with how much of a downgrade the latest updates to Photoshop and Lightroom are. Adobe constantly insists on ruining their own products but I've never experienced it quite to this degree. When I hover over my presets in Lightroom it now constantly glitches out. When I click a preset and then slide the effect amount slider to 0 the photo is still drastically changed from before I clicked it. With every update the programs we all used to love just get worse and worse.

Good thing Figma, Davinci Resolve, etc are now all available without these glitches. Going to talk to my boss next week about getting our marketing team switched over.

Likely you need to reset your preference file:

This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop, it can change your local storage location. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.
