Lightroom - Profile correction on merged images

Hi. Does anyone have advice on when to enable profile correction when you're merging multiple images - (1) to each individual images before merging, or (2) to the merged image? Thanks

Profile correction should take place on the individual images. You cannot profile correct a merged image because each merge is different.

That's what I suspected. Just wanted to be sure as there seems to be no specific advice on this.
