lightroom shared album downloads

Question

hello!i’ve just finished a photo project & i’m needing to share the photos with my client for them to download — these are engagement photos so the likelihood of them being used on socials or printed is high.i’m wondering if using the shared albums feature will allow my client to download the photos at FULL resolution?i want to ensure there is no loss in quality if transferring them this way. thank you!!

Hi there! Yes — shared albums can do this, but you need to enable one setting first. In the album's Share & Invite dialog, go to the Settings tab and turn on "Allow JPG downloads" under Photos. Then anyone with the link can download the shared photos.

One thing to know: what your client gets are JPG downloads of the shared photos (with your edits applied), not the original RAW files. For social media that's plenty, but if you want to guarantee the absolute best quality for printing, I'd also export the final photos yourself as Full Size JPGs (Share > Export — "Full Size" exports the highest available quality in JPEG format) and send those alongside the shared album.
