Lightroom shows number next to album, but window says "This Album is Empty"

Lightroom 7.5 on MacBook ProI don't know how to use it, so I've been trying to create albums & folders, just sticking to sorting things for now. I've tried searching for photos I know are in there, but it always comes up empty. Then I noticed numbers next to the album names, but the window says "This Album is Empty." WHY?!

I'm not sure exactly - you do have filters showing but nothing seems to be active. I do notice in the filter box at the top, it says "Search 2 albums." This tells me that you have more than one album selected on the left hand side. Can you try choosing a different one, then coming back to the Evan album only (next to the magnifying glass icon in the search box, it should say "Search Evan Michael").
