Lightroom syncing/paste edits issue

Lately I've been having so much trouble with basic functions of Lightroom CC. One of the features I use the most, pasting my edits from a previous photo, has stopped working for me seemingly out of nowhere. I'll go from copying and pasting edits with ease, to suddenly the Paste Edits option being grayed out on the menu tab. I thought perhaps this was because Lightroom needed to catch up and sync all of the photos properly, but even after it finishes syncing and is completely backed up, the "Paste Edits" is still not an option! It's sort of maddening. Is anyone experiencing something similar to this?
