Lightroom v7.0 macOS 14.1 M2 Pro: Local does not show local hard drive , "Folder not supported"

I'd like to use the Local edit on my  macOS 14.1 M2 Pro Macbook Pro, but Local shows only my user home directory. If I try to browse to al local folder not under my home directory there is an error "slected folder is not support". External USB or Thunderbolt Drives are shown when connected.

In System preferences - privacy & security - Lightroom has full access to the hard drive

On my Intel iMac macOS 14.1 the local hard drive is shown.

Any suggestions or hints?

Greetings

Dirk

I think that is normal. Applications should not have access to certain folders outside your Home directory, even if they have 'Full disk access'.

Hi Johan,

no that's not normal, on my other machine (intel iMac) the whole hard drive outside Home directory ist accesible within the Local tab of Lightroom.

I'm seeing the same on my M1 MacBook Pro, so I do think this is normal. It could be related to thighter security from Apple on the new machines however, so the fact that the Intel Mac does allow it does not necessarily mean that what you see on the M2 Mac is abnormal.
