Lightroom view is wrong

My Lightroom looks different on my monitor vs my laptop - on my monitor it looks normal and I can use it regularly, but on my laptop the view is messed up and despite the appearance, if I click on any part of the screen, it acts like the appearance is normal - so if I click on the photo selection view, it acts as though I'm clicking on the image - how do I fix this?
