Lightroom vs Lightroom Classic

 I  just signed up for Lightroom.  Further reading tells me it is cloud-based.  Does that mean I need be online to edit my photos?  We travel 4 or 5 months out of the year and internet is not always available.  I would like to edit, save to a hard drive and then upload to the cloud when I am online.   Should I re-submit and get Lightroom Classic?
