Lightroom Web fails to load – “Maximum call stack size exceeded” in acr_web.min.js

Hello,

I'm encountering a critical issue with Lightroom Web on my Windows computer. The loading screen hangs indefinitely, and the browser console shows this error:

Uncaught RangeError: Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DedicatedWorkerGlobalScope': Maximum call stack size exceeded
at acr_web.min.js (loaded from CloudFront)

Details:
- Happens on all browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
- Cache cleared, incognito, extensions disabled – nothing helps
- LocalStorage cleared manually
- Hardware acceleration disabled
- GPU drivers updated
- SFC/DISM Windows scans done
- Re-installed browsers – no change

The problem started recently and disrupts my entire workflow — I can only access Lightroom via my phone, which is not viable for professional use.

Could Adobe please investigate whether this is a bug in the latest `acr_web.min.js` version? Is it possible to roll back, patch it, or provide a configuration workaround?

Happy to provide system info, logs, screenshots, or remote session if needed.

Thank you!

Hello @l?va_7232,

Thank you for sharing the detailed information about the issue you’re experiencing with Lightroom Web. I completely understand how frustrating it must be to have your workflow disrupted, especially when the problem occurs across multiple browsers and after trying various troubleshooting steps.

To help us investigate further, could you please try using a VPN or connecting through a different internet connection (such as a mobile hotspot) to see if that resolves or affects the issue?

Additionally, could you please share:

  • A screen recording of what happens right after you enter the Lightroom Web URL and press Enter? This will help us see the behavior firsthand.

  • Your system specifications (Windows version, hardware details).

  • The exact version of the Chrome browser you are using.

Looking forward to your response,

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Hello, Anshul,

Thanks for your response.

1. I tested Lightroom Web with a different internet connection (mobile hotspot), and unfortunately, the issue still persists.
2. I’ve attached a screenshot that shows the problem – the web page keeps loading endlessly and never completes.
3. My Chrome version is: 137.0.7151.69 (Official Build) (64-bit).
4. Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19045)

  • Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400 CPU @ 2.90GHz (12 CPUs), ~2.9GHz

  • Memory: 16GB RAM

  • DirectX Version: DirectX 12

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

  • Driver Version: 30.0.14.7381

Thanks again for looking into this!

Best regards,
Liva

Hello, I’m experiencing an issue with Lightroom Web on my Windows computer. The page tries to load but never finishes loading – it stays stuck on the loading screen indefinitely. However, Lightroom Web works fine on my phone, so the issue seems specific to my computer. I have already tried: - Multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge – same issue) - Incognito mode and clearing cache - Disabling all browser extensions - Disabling hardware acceleration - Updating my GPU drivers - Running SFC and DISM tools to check Windows system integrity The browser console shows the following error: "Uncaught RangeError: Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DedicatedWorkerGlobalScope': Maximum call stack size exceeded" It seems to be related to a script loaded from `acr_web.min.js`. Could you please help me resolve this? Let me know if you need any logs or additional information. Thank you in advance!
