linear gradient

Hi Guys,

I have some how messed around with the linear gradient on my lightroom account. When I use the Linear gradient and go to exposure for example, toggle from L to R.. it dosent automatically change the exposure? I have to toggle left and then press enter to see the effect? its soooo annoying. 

Any help would be massively appreicated here guys.
