Lost photos

Hi. I logged into Lightroom on my iPhone today after not using the app for a while. My photos briefly appeared under the Lightroom tab but then disappeared and I now see a “There’s nothing here” screen. Can you help me retrieve my photos?

    It sounds like you signed back into the app, you used a different email address.  Using a new email address would create a new Lightroom account and hide the assets in the other account.  

     

    My recommendations:

    1. Do not uninstall the app.  If you do this, any photos in Lightroom that were not synced to cloud storage could be lost.  If you did already attempt to uninstall & re-install, then you would need to restore a device backup made when Lightroom still had your previous images.

    2. If you still have the same Lightroom app installed, I would try signing in with other email addresses you may have previously used.  If you find those images, you will want to export them to your camera roll, so that you can later re-import them into the account you used to post for help (which I see is currently subscribed)

    3. If suggestion # 2 doesn’t help, you might still be able to recover images directly from the Lightroom app cache, if you are able to plug your device into a computer.  For more info, see: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/kb/recover-lightroom-mobile-photos-itunes-file-sharing.html

     

    I hope you are able to find the right account or otherwise can retrieve your files.

    No, it’s definitely the right email address. I had created many folders - which I can still view. The folders are empty though.  Does that mean anything?

    Hi ​@Leon_T,

     

    Thanks for the update, and I hope you were able to recover your photos using the HelpX shared by Charlie.

     

    Regarding what you mentioned:

    • You can still see folders

    • But they appear empty

     

    That usually indicates an account/session mismatch, not data deletion.

     

    I checked your account details, and it looks like you may have originally signed in with Facebook.

     

    If you are now logging in using direct email/password (even if it’s the same email), it might be creating a separate session, which explains:

    • Folders visible (structure synced)

    • But no photos (assets tied to original login method)

     

    Next step to try:

    • Sign out of Lightroom Mobile

    • On the login screen, choose Continue with Facebook

    • Sign back in using that method

     

    Then you can check if your photos reappear.

     

    If the HelpX recovery guide didn’t help and this still doesn’t resolve it, let me know. We’ll take it further.
