Low resolution Video in lightroom cc

Hello

I have 1080p and 4K videos in my library. When I download the original file from the cloud and play it with QuickTime, the quality is perfect.

When I try to play the video with Lightroom cc on Mac or mobile or web or Apple TV, the quality is very poor. Like between 480p or 720p very compressed.

Any ideas of what I should do to get those video correctly played by lightroom.

I would guess this is because Lightroom CC does not by default store any video locally and usually just streams video. If you click the info button on your video and scroll down, you will likely see that the local storage is a smart preview (I know that doesn't make sense on video but it is what Lightroom CC calls a low res preview of the video). Try putting the video in an album that is stored locally. It should download the source video and play from that.

This wokaround works partially:

- The resolution is ok but lightroom seems to have some issues to maintain the framerate of the video. Framerate is perfect in any other player outside LR.

- The idea of using the cloud version of LR is not to download all my video, it should be able to stream them.

Yeah playback in Lightroom has never been very good. Quicktime, vlc, etc. are far better at this. For some reason Adobe doesn't really use the GPU for this very efficiently. I and others have complained about this before.

What kind of internet connection do you have (i.e. try to run the speedtest app from ookla (it is available on the Mac app store)? You might simply not have enough bandwidth. On my network (I get 175 Mbps download) I get no visible deterioration of 1080p and up video in Lightroom CC.
