LR 8.2 Freezing up

I thought my issue was with the previous computer I was using imac (8GB), however, now i'm on a mac mini with 42GB of memory and barely using any space...and yet LR will let me edit a batch of images before freezing and making me force quit. This is extremely frustrating and completely screwing up my workflow and making me get behind with delivering work. I've read and tried just about all of the suggestions and even went and bought an entire new computer...and it's still being a turd. Am I missing something? PLEASE HELP!

That's great! By chance do you know what was causing the issue/what resolved it?

I utilized the chat help and ended up letting a tech take over my computer
and navigate everything - I know he deleted some crazy amount of photos I
was trying to get to delete.

However, I do feel so silly for uploading to the cloud (and not directly to
the drive on LR) and therefore ran out of space. I had to purchase
additional cloud space via Firefly, so everything can sync, and from there
I can move everything to the drive (??? I'm a bit confused at this tbh).

Whatever all he did, it did allow me to start working again quickly and
once I meet this deadline, I plan to dig into everything and ensure I'm
doing things correctly (had no idea that you can't just move images from
the cloud to the drive).

Apologies I can't be more specific on the exact things he did.

I, too, am experiencing significant slowdowns of the LR ecosystem for desktop (most impacted & unusable), iPad, and mobile.

I'd also basically rebuilt a PC with all new, way overkill on specs hardware, upgraded to 10GB internet, and 3TB of cloud space all for no improvements in LR. Even having support do a remote control of my desktop came up with nothing.

There has to be some kind of bug creating this.

Hi @WhiteRabbitStudios, welcome to the Lightroom Ecosystem forum! We need a few more details to better assist you with this issue.

  • Issue - a short description of the problem.
  • Steps to reproduce - a numbered list of the exact steps needed to replicate the issue.
  • Expected result - what should happen after executing the last step.
  • Actual result -  what actually occurred after the previous step
  • Adobe Lightroom version
  • Operating System - specify Windows or macOS, along with the version

If possible, please also share a screenshot or screen recording of Lightroom along with your system info. You can find it by going to Help > System Info, then copying and pasting it into a text file to attach here. This will help us investigate further. Thanks! ^CH

Hello! Thankfully, I had someone from Adobe help me out and everything
seems to be working well, especially with the new update and such!
