Lr 8.4 Crashes when opening a photo in detail view

First Lr did crash each time when opening. After resetting the preferences to default, I can start Lr and when it opens with Photo grid it does not crash. Changing from Photo grid to Detail (D) will crash Lr. I did switch of the GPU, but that did not make a difference.

I use a Dell Windows 11 computer.

Till yesterday Lr did work fine.

Thank for the respons.

I managed to solve the problem. It looks like the Graphics card driver was corrupt. The system did not give me an error, and all the software was up to date. But any how, I looked for the latest Graphics driver and installed this driver. That solved it.

Thanks Cees

Hi, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry about the trouble!

Thanks for sharing the crash report and trying the steps you mentioned. If the application was working yesterday, do you know of anything that changed in the last 24 hours? Like a Windows update or any other update that happened on the machine?

Please ensure that all the images are synced and backed up. If they are, try uninstalling the application using the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and reinstalling it to check if that makes a difference. You can check out the steps to use the cleaner tool here: https://adobe.ly/401oL3K

Thanks,
Nikunj
