LR 9.2 Photo Renaming problem

Question

When I use the “Photo Renaming” function in Lightroom 9.2 (this actually happened in the previous release as well) LR would struggle with file extensions.

For example: If I select .DNG and its corresponding .JPG and then rename them using “YY-MM FILENAME” it would show in the Preview ““YY-MM FILENAME.DNG”. However when executed it would update the DNG to “YY-MM FILENAME.DNG” while the JPG would be named “YY-MM FILENAME-2.JPG”. This happens consistently when selecting multiple photos with identical filenames but separate file extensions, no matter if stored in the Adobe Cloud or locally. This would not happen in LrC 15.2!

Hey ​@Photochroma, Thank you for sharing the details about the issue you're seeing when exporting images from Lightroom. Could you confirm which export settings you're using? I tested exporting two images using the File Naming: Date – Filename setting and the export completed successfully in Lightroom 9.2.To help us test the issue out on our end please send screen shootof your export window and sample files would be helpful to test on our end.^CMass
