Lr iOS App stopped auto syncing to cloud

My iOS Lr app recently stopped auto syncing to the cloud.   I have confirmed via manual uploads in different ways that:

  1. Auto sync from adobe cloud > Mac desktop app works
  2. Auto sync from iOS Photos > Lr app works
  3. Auto sync from Mac Desktop > adobe cloud works
  4. Manual & Auto sync from iOS Photos > iOS Lr App works
  5. Auto sync from adobe cloud > Lr iOS app works
  6. Manual sync from iOS Lr app > adobe cloud works
  7. Auto sync from iOS Lr App > Cloud does NOT work

And I can't seem to find a manual way to do this sync to check or turn this auto sync on (or maybe trigger it to start working again)

I have logged out of the app and loged back in of the iOS app. I have deleted the app and reinstalled. I am on the latest iOS update. I have confirmed that I have both Wifi and Cellular sync is on.  I have gone to Settings > Cloud storage & sync and toggled off and them back on again the switches for "Use celluar for sync" and "prevent from sleep." I have gont through iOS settings > Lr app > and toggled everything off and on again.

I have to be missing something. Please somebody help because my OCD is clearly taking over. 🙂

Hello @marc_saint-pierre

Just asking some questions to confirm:
"2. Auto sync from iOS Photos > Lr app works".

-- so, in LR App Settings > Import, automatic import is enabled and working?  This means images from your camera roll/iCloud are being imported into Lightroom and will sync to Lightroom cloud storage.  For large sync efforts, please ensure that Lightroom is running and the device is plugged into power so that app can stay awake and allow sync to complete

"7. Auto sync from iOS Lr App > Cloud does NOT work"

--I"m not certain what you expect.  There has been no change here.  Lightroom Mobile does not automatically save imported / edited images back to the device camera roll.  The Device tab in Lightroom is simply a view of your camera roll, which you might be syncing to iCloud.  But image edits and other changes you make in Lightroom are not automatically saved back to your camera roll.  You must manually export images from Lightroom Mobile to your camera roll.

Does this help explain behavior?  I worry I do not understand your point.  My first reading of your message was that the Lightroom Mobile app is not syncing to Lightroom cloud storage.  But I see you have a valid, working subscription with plenty of Lightroom cloud storage space.  And since you tried reinstalling the app and other common troubleshooting, and I see not server side reasons for lack of sync, I wanted to make sure I understand which cloud you mean: LR cloud or iCloud.

If it really is syncing to the Lightroom cloud that seem stuck, do keep the device plugged into power with the app running long enough to sync.  Tap on the cloud icon to check status, and if you have imported new images that are not syncing, is some error message displayed in the LR cloud status?

Have you recently enabled a firewall on your device or home wifi router?  Have you started using VPN or made some other change like this on your device?

Thank you for the speedy reply.  I think you response help me fix the issue.

I was looking in Setting > cloud storage and sync.  not Setting > Import.  I toggled everything on in Import just now.

My expected behavior is/was: take a pic on my iPhone, it auto syncs to Lr mobile then to > Lr cloud and then to > Lr on my Macbook.

What was happening was: take a pic on my iPhone, and I could see the photos Lr mobile [device] tab but not the [Lightroom].  I mistook that as the photos were getting into the App. But, now I realize that it was just reading the photo from the filmstrip at the device level and the photos had not reached the adobe ecosystem.

I am at work and need to check when I get home to see if it syncing all the way to my Macbook, but I suspect it is working now.

Not sure why this stopped working a couple days ago. It has always worked, so I didn't know where to access this setting. Was there a recent app update that may have triggered this to turn off?

I'm not aware of any update that would have disabled this.  I will explore what might have happened further on my end.

Anyway, I'm glad if this is working for you now!
