LR Katalog synchronisierung beschränken

Hallo

ich hab mal ne Frage an die Spezialisten unter Euch:

Ich versuche seit ein paar Tagen meine LRc Fotos mit LR zu synchonisieren; allerdings möchte ich nicht alle Fotos die ich in meinem LR classic Katalog habe synchronisieren, sondern nur jene, die in verschiedenen  Sammlungen liegen.

Aktuell stellt es sich mir aber so dar, dass ich - sobald ich (über das Cloud Symbol) auf synchronisieren klicke LR mit der Meldung / Frage kommt ob ich den aktuellen Katalog synchronisieren will . Alternativ  wird noch "Abbrechen" angeboten - aber dann steht die Möglichkeit Sammlungen zu synchronisieren (über das Kontextmenu) nicht zur Verfügung.

Gibt's hier eine andere Alternative?

You are mostly wrong with this understanding.

Two points-

1) Lightroom-Classic will Sync UP to the Cloud (as smart previews ) only the photos you selectively place in Standard Collections that are marked to Sync. (A small double arrow appears beside the Collection name). ie. Not the entire LrC Catalog. (I only sync ~3000 photos from my ~70,000 LrC catalog)

2) Any photos you add/import to the Cloud versions of Lightroom will ALL sync DOWN the full-size files to the LrC Catalog. ie. photos taken with a phone Lr Camera will download to LrC. ie. ALL photos in a Lightroom Cloud 'Catalog' sync down to a Lightroom-Classic Catalog & local drive storage.

This message suggests to me that you have already synced another LrC catalog previously, and it is asking if you want to now change the sync to the Catalog you have open.

Only one Lightroom-Classic Catalog can ever 'sync' to the cloud.

 

In the LrC Sync FAQ-

"Lightroom Classic syncs only one catalog at a time. And since Lightroom Classic on two different computers uses two different catalogs, you cannot sync catalogs between Lightroom Classic on two different computers."  (or two different Catalogs on the one computer!)

Hello Rob,

thanks for the feedback - but I think there's been a misunderstanding - so let me clarify it a bit:

# I do know that LR can only "sync" one catalogue at a time; means that switching between diffrent catalogues will be a bit contradiconary.

But that's not the what I'm struggling with - so lets play with some "figures"

* I have nearly 70000 pictures in my catalogue but out of this 70.000 I only want to synch the pictures which I have in collected in diffrent collections, like
 * 2023_11-Italy
 * 2022_06-France

and so on.
But - in a nutshell - it seems to me that LRc only supports synchronization of the entire catalogue and does not support "selective" synchronization (means, following my figures; only 15.000 out of 70.000)
