LR LOCAL.."system does not have enough system memory

I am using lightroom LOCAL version and keep getting "system does not have enough system memory". I have to force quit. I talked to apple support today and ran the activity monitor , the system memory was yellow to red. They said it was a LR issue.. I tried to contact Adobe -- but no luck... any suggestions??

BTW I have a Macbook PRO, M1 pro chip, 16 GB RAM, 500GB hard drive storage available

I have this issue as well. Lightroom will eat up your memory and then start filling up your hard drive when you run out of memory. As soon as you close out of lightroom and reopen it. I gain about 50GB back on my hard drive and my memory load goes way down. Previously someone said that lightoom has a known bug where it does not release memory when it is done with it.

it sure does seem like an LR Bug!!

I will go back to LRClassic for now...

At least I am not alone!  THX!!

Do you have a sense of whether this also happens on the Cloud side, or do you only edit in Local?

And are you using AI features often? This would include, for example: Select Sky/Subject/Background, Enhance, and Lens Blur.

i was using LR Classic until I found that the LR Local was so convenient!!  Classic is ok  , no issues with the  memory pressure that I can see...  I never use the cloud..  but I did try to use it today  and I am getting the same  yellow and  red bands on the activity monitor.

I was not using any of the AI applications..  it literally crashes just by scrolling thru my images..
