LR Tutorial / Make Selective Edits / Apply local adjustments with Linear Gradients - problem

The referenced tutorial demonstrates working with two linear gradients on the provided landscape photo. No matter what I do, LR will not add another linear gradient with which I can work. What is the magic word that will allow me to work with a second linear gradient as demonstrated in the tutorial?
