LR version 6.14 -- d850 NEF raw files suddenly not recognized

I have been using LR 6.14 [desktop version] for years. On both my laptop and desktop, Nikon d850 has no problem with NEF raw files.  Ever.

However have a new HP desktop, installed LR 6.14, and when entering Develop mode …

It says “This file is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom.”

LR does recognize the d850.  And all is fine with NEF files from d750 and d610.

Furthermore, the exact same d850 NEF raw files do not cause this issue in LR 6.14 on my laptop or other desktop.

Very frustrating.

Anyone have ideas as to why, and more importantly what a solution could be …??

If you are installing from the disk then 6.0 is all you are going to get. Here is a link to a website where you can download  6.14. That was the final update for Lightroom 6.

I found the LR614 "PatchInstaller.exe" in my software folder, ran it and all is well.
Had completely forgotten about that.

I you absolutely certain you have installed Lightroom 6 .14 on the new desktop? I would double check the version.

That may explain it.  Appears to be v6.0.

It's what I've always installed from.
