LR Will Not Hold Filter

At my software co, a bug means its the company's fault not user error so not sur eifthis is te right selection, but:

 

LR Classic will NOT hold filter selection.  I choose 1 star in 1 collection and it flickers to the selection and then back to no filter.

 

I am on brand new (2021) imac, 16 ram, toggled off hover preview, write to xml NOT set, tried toggling off sync and this is my first and only job on my brand new cloud based catalog so its not a size or optimization issue. Tried closing and re-opening. Tried computer restart.

 

Gotta get the job out the door and this is really pretty annoying, so any help would be MUCH appreciated!

    Resetting your preferences often fixes these buglets/

     

    • Reset Procedure:
    • Close Lightroom.
    • Windows: Hold down [Alt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
      Mac: Hold down [Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
    • Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
    • Close Lightroom.
    • Restart Lightroom.

    "LR Classic..... brand new cloud based catalog"

    These two statements are incompatible!  Lr-Classic does not use cloud based catalogs. So which "Lightroom" are you actually using?  (A copy of the report from MENU: Help > System info would be informative!)

    And Lr-Classic has a small padlock icon that will 'lock' a filter so as to be active even if you change folders.

    Sorry if my terminolgy was inaccurate and seemingly irritating! @18849057    As I mentioned, brand new to cloud based LR and its many many buglets.  I found a solution on another board so I am all set.

    Good Morning @Rikk Flohr: Photography 

    I apologize if I posted in the wrong Forum.  If you ever have a moment can you unpack the difference between the Classic and Eco forums so that I dont make the same mistake again.  

     

    I am  using LR Classic and I experienced specific functuality that looked like a bug to me but since I am new to the cloud version of LR, I thought it could also possibly be user error.

     

    Thanks for any guidance that you can provide!
