LR6 & macOS Catalina

I am re-installing LR6 on MacOS Catalina from a CD and it gives me the message that the install.app needs to be upgraded by Adobe. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If Adobe would let me installe it as a download, it would be much appreciated but I do not seem to have any recourse at this point.

Even a download of the installer won't work because the installer is 32-bit even though the program itself is 64-bit.

It’s impossible to re-install on Catalina as the installers comprise 32 bit components. Apple has been warning of this for the last year.
