LrC is trying to sync every photo in the cloud

I have several years worth of photos in LrC that are not in the cloud. I want to set up one folder to sync images from LrC so that I have them available in cloud for regular LR. That works. But when I sync, LrC is also trying to download ALL my photos in the cloud, 15k of them. I've gone through every collection in LrC and triple checked that sync is turned off. There is only one folder set to sync. And yet, LrC continues to download all my photos, and I cannot figure out how to get it to stop. Any ideas?

Hi @Zaiquiri, Thank you for reaching out! I'll try making things clearer for you!

When you activate sync in Lightroom Classic, it establishes a two-way connection with the Adobe Creative Cloud. This means it will not only upload the images you specify but also download everything currently stored in your Lightroom cloud account. If you delete the photos that Lightroom Classic downloads from the cloud from within your LrC catalog, they will also be deleted from your cloud storage and any other synced devices.

Suppose you're concerned about saving space on your computer's internal drive. I'd suggest moving the downloaded photos to an external drive from the Folders panel in Lightroom Classic's Library module. Please don't move the folder using your computer's File Explorer or Finder. This will break the link, and Lightroom Classic will show the files as "missing."

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
