Question

Lrcc_console.log suddenly expands to fill drive space

MacBook Pro M2 pro,

Macos Tahoe 26.3

Lightroom Desktop 9.1

Every week or two I will find my MacBook Pro M2 drive has suddenly completely filled because the lrcc_console.log file will grow to 90 - 100GB. I have to find the log file and delete it and then my laptop will run good for a while. This started happening in late December, I have had to delete the log file 4 times now.

Below I have pasted a portion of the log. The log has several pages that look like the top section, then it starts repeating this line until the drive fills up:

Hey, @plaiditude. If you’re still seeing this issue, please try this:

In Lightroom, go to Settings > Interface > Uncheck ‘Enable External Controllers.’

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

I did start using a Tourbox around Christmas time, so that is why I’ve had the external controllers option turned on. So that may be related to the ballooning log file?

Yes, it could be this, or any other external controller. If it does help, you can temporarily disable Tourbox and enable the feature again to isolate this.

    Thanks!

Hey, @plaiditude. Thanks for the detailed report. What you’re seeing might be similar to what we’re actively investigating here:

One of the suggestions that the team has: As a quick test, put your device in airplane mode or turn off Wi-Fi to disconnect it from the internet, and check if that helps.

    Thanks!
