Mac Updates and Lightroom

Hi

 

Constructive, simple advice please

 

I am using an iMac with macOS Mojave and Lightroom version 4.4.

 

I would like to install the latest updates for both.

 

I have lots of Raw photos on Lightroom and not all backed up.

 

Now as a novice and probably a stupid question to many - by installing these updates will my photos remain/transfer on Lightroom or is there another process to do?

 

Will Lightroom remain on my computer when updating my iMac first with macOS Ventura?

 

Look forward to some advice.
