Question

(macOS) Lightroom runs in trial

I'm currently using a school account to access Adobe programs. In the creative cloud Apps section, there is Lightroom under the Available in your plan. So I downloaded it and tried to use it. But whenever I open Lightroom, it's asking for me to start my free trial. It's in the plan but it's asking me to pay for it. How do I fix this?

Your school account won't include Lightroom unless your school allows you to create an individual account with your school email. Lightroom stores your images in a cloud and therefore requires an individual login. However, you can use Lightroom Classic because it stores images on a local hard drive.

Hey @Jihoon31988187obgr. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. I've checked the account you're signed in to the community with & I couldn't find an active subscription to Creative Cloud apps or Lightroom.

As you've stated, you possibly have an entitlement via your school/institute; an IT team or Administrative body must've been handling your subscription. Please check with your institution's IT/administration to understand the entitlements available through their licensing agreement.

To understand more about this form of Licensing, please check here: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-mobile-available-education-memberships.html

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!
