Question

mask subtract error - masks as add

The"subtract" option in masks, when selected, tends is initially operating as an "add".  Consequently it means needing to "convert it".  This occurs regardless of the masking type.

I am having the same issue. When I go to subtract masking, it adds instead, then I have to "convert to subtract".

Please record a screen video (a proper screen video, do not film your screen with a phone) and attach that to your answer. If this was a bug in Lightroom, there would be a mile long thread about it by now, because thousands of people work with masks like this every single day.

Please explain in more detail, preferably with screenshots, what you mean. Masks work as expected for me. And I assume for everybody else, because this is the first time I read about this alleged problem.

Hi @ben21848873799o, I'm just checking in to see if you are still running into this issue? Let us know how things are going. Happy to keep troubleshooting with you if needed. Thanks! ^CH

This is an ever continuing issue.  I do not have a way to provide you  with screenshots which show this issue.  I simply click on the subtract option.  but instead of subrtracting the masks treats it as an addition.  After which I need to convert it to subtract.
