masking not working properly.

It won/t create a new mask. Starts a new brush under last mask.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

Could you elaborate on what's happening and share the version of Lightroom you're using? Also, how are you creating the new Mask? When working with Masks, what happens when you select the option to Create New Mask (check attached screenshot)?
