Masking turns image black in Lightning (Windows)

Question

When using Lightroom on my desktop computer, when I select the masking tool, my entire photograph goes black.  Please help!

Hi there,

We're sorry about the trouble with Lightroom.

Could you please share the version of Lightroom (Help > About Lightroom) and the version of Windows on your computer?

Is it happening after any recent software or application update? Do you see any error messages?

Do you have to install the newest version of the driver for the graphic card?

If not, please try installing the latest driver; if yes, try an older one. Go to Preferences->Performance to uncheck the "Use Graphics Processor" box and let us know if it helps.

You can try to reset the preferences of Lightroom using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2JSym5e.

Please backup your presets prior to resetting the preferences.
