Merge Photos Loads Recently Added Instead of Staying in Album

Recently, after merging a few HDR photos, the window changes from the album I am in to "recently added". Then I have to move back to the album, scroll to wherever I was, and merge the next set of HDRs. It does this over and over when working on several sets of HDRs. It used to just keep the view of the album I'm working in so I could continue merging when each set completed. How can I get it back to doing that?
