meta data from Google Photo not working

I'm using the web version of Lightroom. I've connected to Google Photo and imported two photos. My phone is a Google Pixel 8.

The editing works top notch, no surprise there.

However, the feature is useless to me because location data is not imported from Google Photos.

The meta data I get are these:

capture date

ISO, focal length

model name of my "camera", i.e. Pixel 8

No location data. 

Is there a setting somewhere or what's going on?
