Lightroom Mobile/Cloud: Captions, titles, and keywords added on iPad do not export with JPG
First off, I love Lightroom Classic. It does everything I need, and more, and I’m finding it gets better and better with each new feature. I use it when I’m able to finish work at home. It works in my workflow fantastically.
Since I need to submit photos in real time, I started making a transition to Lightroom Mobile (I think) or Lightroom Cloud (?), on my iPhone 16 plus. I then needed to be able to see the work and write the captions using a bigger platform in the field (I’m a photojournalist), so I’ve been using an iPad Air 13 that I just purchased. I’m having all sort of issues replicating how I used my iPhone.
I just can’t seem to figure out where/what I’m on, when I’m using LR on different hardware + devices. The features are different on the version of LR on my mobile phone from my ipad.
And, the biggest issue is, I spent a great deal of time on my iPad, creating my caption, title and key words, and now I’m finding that none of it exported when I created JPGs to submit to my news wire. I was able to import photos to my wire, and it would grab the caption and populate against each photo. If it doesn’t have that, then I have to go in and manually copy and paste into each photo.
I thought the ipad was going to make my life easier, but honestly - it’s been a bit of a hassle.
I’m guessing I’m using a downloaded Mobile app (sometimes) and LR in the cloud (other times), but honest to goodness I can’t tell which. I feel like the more “on device’ and less ‘in cloud’ the better the features and the more it’s working for me in the field.
Any tips? I really need to change up what I’m doing, as I was up to 3:30 following a track and field event, and now realizing all I submitted, likely doesn’t have any of my key words in it - which makes me really sad.
I wish I could just have Lightroom Classic on my iPad Air (I love you LRC!!!)
