Migrated Lightroom Catalog empty: classic to cloud issues

Hi there, I have been trying to move from working in Lightroom Classic to Lightroom (cloud). I have migrated the catalog from Classic to cloud, following Adobe's instructions ( https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/lightroom-cc/using/migrate-to-lightroom-cc.html).

When the process completed, my migrated catalog and collections from Classic show in Lightroom but they are empty. The only photos that showed up in Lightroom are a few that I imported manually a while back to explore the software.

Some of my collections from Classic have since synced and show in Lightroom- is syncing my collections from Classic a workaround from which I can then work solely in Lightroom going forwards?  Ideally I would like to complete the migration process properly for a more sensible workstream going forwards.

Many thanks

Hi @Alice25952881lg8c

Thanks for the detailed explanation. To help clarify what’s happening and figure out the best next steps, could you please share a few more details?

  • Lightroom Classic version used for the migration

  • Lightroom (cloud) version and macOS version

  • Approximately how many photos were in the Classic catalog you migrated

  • During migration, did Lightroom report that the process completed successfully, or were there any warnings/errors?

  • Are the original photos in Classic stored on a local drive, external drive, or network drive?

  • In Lightroom Classic, were the photos showing as online and available, or were any marked as missing?

  • Is sync enabled in Lightroom Classic (cloud icon in the top-right), and were these collections part of synced collections?

Looking forward to your response!

Regards,

Srishti

I have a very similar issue except none of my assets imported, only the metadata. The collection in Lightroom is empty and it will not let me try the migration again.
