Question

Migrating Catalog from LR4 to LR Cloud

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help with some type of workaround with migrating a Lightroom 4 catalog to Lightroom Cloud.  I have been using LR4 for a long time as you can imagine and have always been happy with it but wanted to finally take the jump to the cloud.  Unfortunately, when trying to migrate the catalog it gives me an error saying I need to upgrade to at least LR6 and then to the cloud.

Unfortunately, I don't see anywhere to download a trail version of 6 just to do the upgrade so I can then upgrade it to the cloud.  Does anyone have any solutions for this as I don't want to lose all my edits, groups, etc. I have defined in LR4?

Thanks,

Ron

For the difference between LrC and LR, see:

Are you sure you want LR (Cloud) and not LrC . LrC (Lightroom Classic) is what you are used to in v4

I believe you might be better to install a 7-day Trial of Lightroom-Classic,

Upgrade your Lr4 Catalog with Lr-Classic,

Then migrate the upgraded Catalog to Lightroom Cloud.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .
