Minor, but annoying thing!

How can I stop my right-click menus stretching half way across the screen. They didn't use to do that. And, even if it doesn't seem so, it is really annoying! (In a minor league way!)    It does actually take a second longer to find the right menu option because of this.   Is there a setting for this?
