Missing Geo Data
Title: GPS metadata is lost when exporting multiple photos to Apple Photos on iOS
Product: Adobe Lightroom Mobile for iOS
Device: iPhone 15
iOS version: iOS 26.6.1
Lightroom version: latest available version as of September 2026
Problem description
When exporting multiple photos from Lightroom Mobile to Apple Photos using Save Copy to Device, GPS/location metadata is not included in the exported JPEG files, even though:
- the original RAW files contain valid GPS/location data,
- the location is correctly displayed inside Lightroom,
- “Include Metadata” is enabled,
- “Location Info” is enabled in the export settings.
The issue occurs specifically with batch/multiple-photo export.
When I export the same photos individually using Save Copy to Device, the GPS coordinates are correctly retained and appear in Apple Photos.
Steps to reproduce
- Open Lightroom Mobile on iPhone.
- Select two or more RAW photos that contain valid GPS/location information.
- Verify that their locations are visible inside Lightroom.
- Select Save Copy to Device.
- Ensure:
- Include Metadata = ON
- Location Info = ON
- Export the selected photos to Apple Photos.
- Open the exported JPEG files in Apple Photos and check the Info panel.
Actual result
The exported JPEG files do not contain location/GPS information in Apple Photos.
Expected result
The GPS/location metadata should be preserved because “Location Info” is enabled.
Important comparison
If I export the same photos one at a time using the same “Save Copy to Device” workflow and the same settings, the GPS/location metadata is correctly preserved.
Therefore the issue appears to be specific to the multi-photo/batch export workflow on Lightroom Mobile for iOS.
Additional information
- JPEG quality: 90%
- Dimensions: Largest Available
- Color space: sRGB
- Original files: RAW
- Location information is visible in Lightroom before export.
- Updating Lightroom to the latest available version did not resolve the issue.
The behavior is reproducible.
