Missing "HDR Output" toggle for JPG export on Android (Contradicts Official Documentation)

Hello,

I'm reporting a bug regarding the HDR export capabilities in Lightroom for mobile (Android). Currently, it is impossible to export an edited HDR photo as an HDR JPG, despite the app supporting HDR editing.

The Issue:

When you finish editing a photo in HDR mode and go to export it, the "HDR Output" toggle is completely missing if you select JPG as the File Type.

However, if you switch the File Type to the mostly unsupported and useless AVIF, the "HDR Output" toggle appears and functions as expected. Since modern Android devices fully support HDR JPG viewing, this feature should be available.

Contradiction with Official Documentation:

What makes this more confusing is that Adobe's official help article explicitly (and falsely) claims that JPG is currently supported for HDR output on Android.

According to the article Edit HDR photos in Lightroom for mobile (Android):

"In the Export settings, specify the Image Type and check the HDR Output box. Supported non-Raw HDR file formats include: AVIF, JPG"

I have attached screenshots demonstrating the issue:

AVIF Export: Shows the "HDR Output" toggle present.

JPG Export: Shows the "HDR Output" toggle missing.

Documentation: Screenshot of the help page falsely claiming JPG support.

(Note: I was actually asked by Adobe Support via a Play Store review to provide more details about this exact issue through email, but I am posting my workflow and evidence also here for the development team to investigate).

Steps to Reproduce:

Open a RAW photo in Lightroom Mobile for Android and apply HDR edits.

Enable edit in HDR mode

Tap the Share icon -> Export as...

Select AVIF as the File Type -> Observe the HDR Output toggle is visible.

Select JPG as the File Type -> Observe the HDR Output toggle disappears and the sxported file is  lacking HDR tones.

Device Info:

Device: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Android OS: Android 16

Lightroom Version: LIGHTROOM ANDROID v11.2.2

Could the development team please look into adding the missing JPG HDR support?

Thank you.

Upon reviewing the images provided, it is evident that the exported file (Picture 1 screenshot original file is too big for the forum) exhibits a tone mapping consistent with the preview for SDR display when it is enabled (Picture 3 screenshot). It appears that the exported file (Picture 1) does not retain the HDR tones that are visible during the editing process when the Edit in HDR mode is active (Picture 2 Screenshot).

The file was exported in JPG format with HDR editing mode enabled and the SDR display preview option disabled.

Thank you for your response regarding this persistent issue.

You may wish to inform the product team that there is also a bug affecting the Galaxy S25/26 Ultra series concerning HDR editing support, which becomes unavailable when adaptive brightness is enabled in the phone's display settings.
