Mouse is twitching when masking

Version: 5.4

Platform: MacOS Monterey 12.4

Hardware: 2019 MacBook Pro, 2.3 GHz 8-core Intel Core i9, 32 GB Ram, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB

Issue

To recreate: 

Open a raw photo and go to the masking section. Select a brush mask and boom. It twitches. It stops twitching after I click to start drawing the mask, but after I stop drawing, it begins twitching again. 

At first, I thought it was my external mouse, but the same issue happens when it's disconnected and I'm using my laptop's trackpad as well. The video below has no mouse connected and is all trackpad. I've reset my preferences and that has not fixed the issue. 

Also, the glitch is not showing on my screen recording since it's happening so fast (maybe? It's weird that it's so much worse with my phone camera), so I sent a video I took with my phone that is more accurate to my experience. I've also added the screen recording too.
