Multiple problems with Lightroom

Hi @ all

I installed lightroom 8.3.1. on my PC. Info: I paused the cloud sync. I do not want it to be synced. When I got a new PC I permanently had to switch from the new one back to the old one, because the new man made a lot of problems (not Lightroom related). This just as an info. Here is when the problems started: I'm oin a busy week, when we come back from the race track we check the photos, run them through an app and then do the fine tuning with adobe Lightroom. Last night, the first 100 photos went well through the app. Then I wanted to import the next 100 and it hung up after about 10 (first time ever that this happened. I'm doing this since 2 or 3 years - never had a problem). So I "x"-ed it and wanted to delete the 10 that have already been imported. First problem: it didn't let me delete the imported files. Tried it several times. No delete, no export, nothing. So I restarted the computer: same situation. Then I installed an older version and hoped that everythingg is gone. NOPE. Opened the app, photos still there, but can't be deleted. So, I uninstalled Lightroom completely, started from scratch: phtos still there, can't be deleted. Now the app even goes further: I can't even uninstall it anymore. I'm totally stuck. How in thsi world do I get this mess cleaned up and make Lightroom useable again? Any ideas? Fortunately, Lightroom Classic worked, so I can keep my schedule, take the photos, run them through an app when I'm back home, edit them with LRclassic during the following morning and publish them before we go back to the track at the afternoon. It's a solution for now, but I would prefer to get LR back to work. Thanks

Thanks! Problem is now solved. I chatted with Adobe and switching between 2 PCs might have caused the problem. I activated sync and continue deleting the photos permanently after editing.

UPDATE:  I chatted with support. Problem solved. Although I used cloud with a paused sync it worked perfectly for me. I usually edit about 100 photos and delete them permanently after exporting them. The fact that I had to switch several times between 2 PCs  might have messed everything up. I now actiavted the sync.

"I wanted to import the next 100"- If you use "import" by its correct meaning, this means that you are, in fact, using the cloud sync.  Any Importing to Lightroom (Desktop, mobile, phone) syncs the full-size files to Cloud storage using internet.

If you intend not using sync then you need to be working in 'Local' mode and simply browsing to folders where you photo files are stored in a local folder (Do not Import or Add photos to Lr.)

IMO For your purposes Lightroom is no more useful (or less so) than Lightroom-Classic.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .
