Question

Need to filter all photos with specific filenames based on client picks

I use Lightroom CC, not Classic. I also use Pixieset, and I have my clients favourite their pictures so that I can edit them in Lightroom CC. From Pixieset, I have a list of files as a text delimited list. E.g.

L1071059, L1071061, L1071064, L1071066, etc…

I need to be able to take this list, and select all these files in Lightroom CC at the same time, then flag/rate/colour them all at the same time so that I can edit each one.

How do I do this? It seems this is possible in Lightroom Classic, but not CC. But I need it in Lightroom CC because I don’t use Classic and have no intention of using Classic. I sync all the client picks to the cloud with Lightroom CC so that I can go back and retrieve them easily in the future.

Thank you,

    Hi @Leonard30897422i4ca,

Thanks for explaining the workflow. I understand what you’re trying to accomplish with the filename list from Pixieset.

Lightroom currently doesn’t have a way to paste a list of filenames and automatically find/select all of those existing photos as a group. At present, filename search requires searching for images individually, so there isn’t a good built-in equivalent for this workflow in Lightroom.

I realize that’s not ideal when a client has selected a large number of images, particularly when the photos are already in your Lightroom library, and you simply want to identify and batch-rate or flag those selections without importing anything again.

Thanks for sharing the use case and the Pixieset workflow.

    Best,
