Installed LR on new computer. It's not reading my saved catalog file which is indexing over 50k photos. Any thoughts?

Correct answer Rob_Cullen

LR v7 does not have a local catalog!- It is in the Cloud ecosystem, so you cannot "Save" a LR7 Catalog file.

If, in the past, you did use a 'perpetual' version of "Lightroom" that did have a local catalog and local files, then it is Lightroom-Classic v13 that you want, not Lightroom v7.

This can be found under Help/System info?

Also what hardware are you using?

Selondon, thanks for your reply. I'm on LR Ver 7.0

Hardware is a new LG Gram laptop with 32GB, 1TB SSB, i7 processor, windows 11, Western Digital 5TB external SSB (This is where my LR Cat files are located.)

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
