New lag when editing and crashing

Hi I'm a Lightroom CC user, on an iPad 12.9 pro. I've lots of available space, battery fully charged, all recent updates.  Im experiencing a lag when zooming into image and using clone/heal tools and some crashing of app, which then loses the edits I've just done on current photo. 

Please can anyone advice/help
