New LR compatible with Google Drive??

Will the new LR CC work with photos stored on Google Drive or will I need to move them to the Adobe Cloud? I currently have all of my photos backed up on Google Drive and it would be fantastic if I could simply point my LR catalog there. I have way more than 1TB of data. Moving and paying for everything again would be a pain. I think this is a move in the right direction though and I'm excited to give it a try!

No it would not work with Drive. The new Lr CC stores and backs up all originals to Adobe’s cloud eco system. Storage on computer & mobile devices is efficiently managed via proxies, when not working on originals, in order to use the smallest footprint possible.

Thank you for your reply. That makes sense. I've installed both new programs and they look great. I think it'll be nice to have options going forward.

...which makes this all terribly unattractive.

I think at Adobe they still regretfully think in the old Apple manner and style  : All mine and no escape ;-). Why is it syncing to its own and  Mr. Zuckerbergs Network  but not a self defined Cloud Service ?

They're using their cloud to do a lot of new-age processing. The Adobe Sensei automatic tagging is just the first. They couldn't do that on someone else's cloud.
