New "People View" empty in Lightroom CC 2.0.1 (Win)

I've installed the latest update of Lightroom CC (2.0.1) which adds a few new features. One of them being the new "People" view/filtering mechanism. I see the menu itme, I click on it, but the resulting page is empty (see screenshot).

How do I go about Lightroom CC indexing my content? Is there a process I need to trigger?

Quick update.   Installed Lightroom update several weeks ago..    835GB  -- 33,000'some photos.    Waited and waited.

Today starting to see the many... many... recognized people.

Now I get to start sorting through all of that.  :- )   A good problem.

107 Gb of pictures, and still waiting for indexing to happen, how much longer is it supposed to take?

I have the same problem. It just says there are no people. It‘a been more than a few days, and there doesn’t appear to be anything happening. It’s not saying anything is syncing, etc. what else should we do to report the issue and get a resolution?

Thanks!

I have exactly the same issue. The response seems to be "wait". The UI is terrible though--it really gives no indication that anything is happening...

I agree, the UI is confusing.

And moreover, since there is no option to opt out, that the indexing is done server-side and that it might "take a few days" to index/tag everyone's content, one does wonder why they didn't just run the indexing process before releasing the UI feature... so that it would ready and properly indexed when users update their app

100% agree—that was my exact comment on other posts. Given this is all server-side, it should have all been done before launch. Unfortunately, feature launches seem to be a bit of an issue for the new Lightroom CC—I had a lot of problems with the preset sync when that first launched too.

They also treat “Lightroom Mobile” as if it is a second-class citizen to the desktop app, despite the fact that the entire thing is supposed to be a platform-agnostic cloud service... you still can’t load Lightroom presets directly into the iPad app... but I’m getting off topic.

This is a bungled launch, but hopefully the back end will sort itself out, or there will be a hotfix, if it is something in client-side code as well.

Hi Phil,

All the indexing is done on server-side. It may not be fully complete for your account but I suggest waiting a few days. If nothing changes after launching the app several times please let us know.

Sahil

Hi Sahil

Having followed you advice to wait and see for three days without any content appearing in the new "People View" it seems unlikely to that this is just a question of allowing time for indexing.

Best regards

Tom
