When exporting files from Lightroom, there is no option to export as a psd file. Why is this? How can I can I export a psd file?

Export as PSD is only available in Lightroom Classic. However Adobe has added the ability to export as DNG in Lightroom 3.2. This may suit your purpose as like PSD the DNG files will be useable in Photoshop and other Adobe software.

You can make a feature request at this link and maybe it will get included in a future update.

Currently, TIF, JPG, and DNG are the only options from Lightroom (cloud-based)

Thanks for verifying this is the case. I thought I was doing something wrong, like a wrong preference.
