Does anyone now why it's not possible to edit with "grain" in the mobile lightroom app? It's possible on my laptop but not on my iphone.

The grain feature has simply not (yet) been added to LR Mobile. I haven't seen any announcement as to whether it may or may not be added in the future (although we can hope).
If you'd like to request it, you can use the in-app feedback (just tap the LR icon from the main screen to access the settings, and choose "Send Feedback").
