No tools can't do any editing

I've been using LightRoom for years (Lightroom CC). But now, when I go into LR, none of the tools are available, i.e., (not sure what they're called): the circle, ellipse, etc., etc. 

I can't do any work on an image.

    If you've been using it for years, were you perhaps using the version that's now called Lightroom Classic?

    Which of these interfaces were you expecting to see?

    What version of Lightroom are you using?

     

    Do images show up as expected? And if so, are you able to use the basic sliders in the Light & Color sections?
