Only virtual copies syncing from Lr mobile to Lrc

My camera raw files are imported into Lr Mobile (iPad version 9.1.0) while I am traveling where I edit them.  When I return to my desktop and use LrC to sync to the cloud, only virtual copies are downloaded.  I don't remember this happening before Lr Mobile had the ability to edit using the DEVICE tab.  Is there some new setting that I am not aware of?  I need to download the original image with edits so I can get them on my local storage and into LrC for additional processing..  Any help will be appreciated.

Can you show us a screen-clip of your LrC screen that includes a Histogram of one of the downloaded files?

What have you set as the default location for Cloud sync downloads in the LrC Preferences > Lightroom Sync tab?

I have not known this (only VCs) to ever happen.

They are virtual copies because they have the dog-eared lower left corner and are named "Copy 1."  However, I was able to determine the cause.  It seems I already had the originals in my catalog and on my local drive.  I must have imported them a second time in Lr Mobile.  Then when they synced LrC saw that the original already existed in the catalog (and on the local drive) and created a virtual copy.  Thanks for your help.
