Overriding PC audio volume

I ran into this same issue today after the most recent upgrade of Lightroom Classic.  My system volume is normally 50%, but every time I gave the Lightroom app focus, i.e. clicked on it, the system volume would change to 25%.  Clicking any other application would have volume return to 50%.  

After troubleshooting and searching for resolutions, I finally found a fix.  You need to run Lightroom as administrator, just once.  Once you have run the app as administrator the issue goes away and you can run Lightroom normally thereafter without the issue reoccuring. 

Did you ever find the problem? I'm having the same problem with Lightroom 8.4 and Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop and running windows 11.

You are using Adobe Lightroom v4.1, and Adobe Lightroom 5.3 is available via the Creative Cloud desktop app. Updating the app to the latest version will iron out any underlying issues in the older versions.

Please update to the latest version of Adobe  Lightroom to 5.3, click "Update" in the Creative Cloud desktop app next to Lightroom. More detailed instructions for updating
