P: Lightroom on Android crashes on Pixel devices

I have a pixel 9 Pro XL and every time I open Lightroom it either crashes or I can open a single picture and then I get the circle and then the app either freezes or crashes again.

I have updated Android and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Lightroom app several times. I have cleared the cache and storage and the same thing happens.

This has been happening for weeks I was hoping an update would fix it.

Had this issue for a month used Lightroom and cloud storage for years have 15k pictures going back 10+ years... Couldn't wait any longer.. took a full backup of my new pixel 9 and reset it to factory reset and recovered it from latest backup now Lightroom works again..

I moved apps from a Oneplus to my pixel could maybe be settings from Oneplus that that pixel didn't like which caused this issue. But just a hunch

I somewhere believe that this error has to do something with the Tensor G chip.

Yeah, I actually talked to Google about this too. At first, I thought it was something to do with the Tensor G chip and their TPU. But if that were the case, none of the third-party apps that uses AI — like ChatGPT or other apps that uses AI processing — would work. They run just fine.

It’s only Adobe’s own stuff, like Lightroom and Photoshop, that keeps choking on the TPU. Honestly, it just looks like Adobe still hasn’t figured out how to get their apps running properly on the Tensor G4 chip. And for a company that charges what they do, it’s kind of a joke. Feels like they’re straight-up scamming clients at this point — taking the money but not investing in a decent developer team to fix their mess.

Same issue. No matter what you do. Restart, reset your device, update everything, OS, app, or whatever. This issue is still there. Even in newer version 11. I am sure it's something related to syncing. If I quickly open a pic before that horrible loading screen comes up, I can for a brief second see that editing features activate but then that black screen with loading/buffering icon comes up and doesn't go away, no matter how much you wait. Bought up a pixel device because I am fond of photography and looked forward to processing raw files quickly on device but now can't really do that now because Lightroom refuses to fix this issue.

At least remove this from Playstore for pixel users until this issue is fixed. It feels like a scam that you can install an app and not use it. I want to buy a subscription but can't do that until this is fixed

Soo.. The issue is still there.

I press on the photo, it opens. In a second, a black screen wth a spinning circle slides from the left. Is it trying to display some crappy Temu ad or what?

Has anyone found a workaround?

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Lightroom on my Pixel 9 Pro. Whenever I try to open a photo for editing or access the Preferences menu, the app gets stuck on an endless loading screen. Eventually, it crashes, showing a black screen with a buffering icon in the center. I have attached a screenshot for a better view.

I’ve already contacted Adobe support, and they suggested the usual steps:

Reinstalling the app

Clearing the cache

Restarting the phone

Trying both online and offline modes

Unfortunately, none of these solutions have resolved the problem. I have an active subscription, and it’s very frustrating that Adobe hasn’t addressed this bug yet.

Has anyone else experienced this on a Pixel 9 Pro? Are there any workarounds or updates that might fix this issue?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Same issue for me.

Moved from Pixel 7 pro to Pixel 9 Pro XL.

As soon I want to open a photo to edit in LR mobile, the ap goes to the loading screen and will not come out of it.

Phone updated to latest version, app updated and installed multiple times.. Flight mode solutions does not work.
